2. SEAL

In a study conducted by Edmunds and Stewart-Brown for the DfES in 2002, 58 profiling and assessment tools were examined. Of those 58, only 4 were commended. Thrive (formerly ENABLE) was described as a "well-founded tool that attempts to assess social and emotional skills in schools and classrooms". This recommendation is included in the SEAL Guidance.
