Training and mentoring

Whole school training, to ensure the approach and understanding permeates relationships and approaches across all aspects of school life, is also available.

THE THRIVE 9-DAY CORE TRAINING PACKAGE

The training will be led by:

1 THRIVE Consultant for up to 15 participants.

2 THRIVE Consultants for 24-30 participants.

• 6 days TRAINING for Lead Thrive Personnel drawn from each participating school or confederation of schools

For example, we suggest:

2 Lead Co-ordinators + 3 Learning Support Assistantsor Teaching Assistants from large Primaries;

1 Lead Co-ordinator + 2 LSA /TAs from smaller schools

OR

1 Lead Co-ordinator from each confederation of small schools + 1 LSA/TA from each school in confederation

PLUS

• 3 days of SMALL GROUP SUPERVISION for Mentoring and Monitoring Thrive Action Plans. This is usually organised in small groups of maximum 6/7 people for 2.5 hours; 2 groups in a day led by a Thrive Consultant or Associate

Alongside this close mentoring support, we run specific skills building sessions to enhance participants' understanding of some key factors that can interrupt learning ( fear, anxiety, anger, separation, loss and bereavement) and to extend their relational and creative skills to support children's emotional learning.

The purchase of Multi-User Site Licences for large numbers of credits also includes some training at no additional cost. Please talk to us at sales@thriveftc.com for more details. This might include, for example,  a  PRESENTATION to Senior Managers; Head Teachers, Lead Officers to introduce the approach and demonstrate the on-line resource or an Introductory day fro selected staff.

In our experience the core training is enhanced when the whole staff group in the participating schools are introduced to the approach and some of the implications for changes in practice. In our current projects this has included a 0.5 day TRAINING for all staff in each of participating schools or confederation of small schools: (where possible 2 x half day trainings will be organised on one day to minimise costs). Please contact us for prices.

In addition we recommend that in-house Network Meetings be set up for peer support and the dissemination of best practice. These are led by Local Authority staff (advised by Thrive Associates in the first instance).

The recommended pattern for the 9-DAY CORE TRAINING including supervision/mentoring is:

2 days training

2 days training

1 day group supervision + skills building

1 day training

1 day group supervision + skills building

1 day group supervision + skills building

1 day training.

Accreditation for Schools

FTC Projects Ltd is committed to the dissemination of good practice across the range of child professionals, schools, care-settings and support services. Our very small team is keen to develop practice that is accountable, inclusive and sustainable. When federations of schools/settings, learning communities or Local Authorities purchase Thrive Licences and multiple training courses, we offer the opportunity for identified staff within schools or Local Authorities to become accredited Thrive in-house Trainers and/or Action Plan Mentors and / or Supervisors.

For more information about this and/or to discuss potential projects please contact: info@thriveftc.com

We are also developing an accreditation system for schools or services. Look out for news of this on the home page.

Accreditation for Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

We are exploring some different pathways to accreditation for our courses in collaboration with the support of Devon County Council. We will keep you posted of our progress.

"People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life...I think that what we are really seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our innermost being and reality, so that we can actually feel the rapture of being alive."
